talksr Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 We have a bit of an issue with our Intune Windows 11 stations. It is rare that staff would want to use RDP but there are some in the office who need to use RDP to access specific software they don't have on the devices they have at home but it is on their work computer which is in work. We use the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client, and just give them a shortcut on their desktop which will open Remote Desktop Connection with their IP, username and password pre-inserted. What I have found is that since we have converted their stations to cloud connected Intune desktops, RDC is not working. I ensured I had the Intune Remote Desktop Services enabled policy in place which is effectively a custom profile with the following OMA-URI setting: ./Device/Vendor/MSFT/Policy/Config/RemoteDesktopServices/AllowUsersToConnectRemotely and the value . This is applied to all stations on the tenancy. If you are on an Intune Windows 11 system and go to systempropertiesadvanced, it appears it is enabled: However, if we run Remote Desktop Connection, it just keeps saying that authentication failed. If I view settings on on a system, despite Remote Desktop showing as enabled above, it would seem that maybe it isn't as it is shown a off: Has anyone else had this issue? I have tried turning off firewalls but that has not helped. When we use Remote Desktop Connection, we are signing in as user@mstenancydomain and corresponding 8 or more char long password just as they would use to sign in to the physical system.
