njreynolds Posted May 3, 2024 Posted May 3, 2024 Hi I am buying a new Lapsafe Mentor cabinets and there is the option to include in the cabinet 30 RJ45 sockets for each laptop. The laptops will be wireless, but I was just wondering what other people have used the RJ45 sockets ? Maybe, just for Wake On Lan or initially rolling out an image ? Thanks
Steve21 Posted May 3, 2024 Posted May 3, 2024 Normally its for things like waking them up at night to do updates etc as well Steve
FN-GM Posted May 4, 2024 Posted May 4, 2024 They are a waste of time to be honest. People don’t connect the laptops to the ports. Hard enough getting them to connect power! 1
Aprice Posted May 4, 2024 Posted May 4, 2024 Hard enough getting them to connect power! Hard enough to get them to put them in the trolley!
CHiLL Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 The only network connectivity I want in my laptop trolley is something like a basic wireless controller, so I can configure/control the charging schedule of the devices in the trolley via a web portal instead of the always fiddly physical controls.
