browolf Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 if u got a ris server and a terminal server both using pxe, is it possible for the computer to have a choice? at the moment the ris server is taking precedence.
Quackers Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 You can tell the RIS server to only respond to certain clients. You do it from the Remote Install tab on the Computer account in Active Directory
Geoff Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Yes. Setup a PXE boot menu. You can do this with PXELINUX and it's menu system. PXELINUX - Syslinux Wiki Menu - Syslinux Wiki
browolf Posted July 28, 2008 Author Posted July 28, 2008 ok thx will give them a look tomorrow. going home now
CyberNerd Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 we let students choose between thinclient windows (citrix), LTSP, PXE puppylinux or some sysadmin tools such as gparted or a dos boot disk using the tools Geoff has linked to. works rather well, but we don't have RIS.
