We've (stupidly) got maths teachers using Promethean - and MFL teachers using Smart boards. When we can afford to upgrade classrooms - we'd be tempted to move to interactive screens (have a couple already) - but would really like a single whole-school interactive software - and the real deluxe version would be to have something that can read promethean files (so that maths can use their resources) AND Smartboard files (so that MFL can read theirs).

Lynx software can open both - but doesn't do a very good job of reading the promethean files (probably doesn't help that we're running a pretty old version of Activ....)

Anyone seen anything better?

Thanks

I found this reply:

Hi there,

Kieran from Promethean here.

With our purchase of Explain Everything, https://explaineverything.com, you will be able to import Flipcharts into the online collaborative Whiteboard. There will be a native App on the Panel as well, which means you can deliver content without a device connected and just use our ActivPanel OS.

If you have any questions you can contact me directly:

Thanks!

Don't put data into software you can't get it out of again

In an ideal world, yes.

Easier said than done if the staff have been doing it 10+ years and you have like gigaquads of flipping flipcharts in use on a daily basis.

Well, at least don't do it twice, choose your next software more wisely

Hi,

If you're looking for an alternative, you may be interested in BenQ EZWrite 6. It's free to download, install and use.

Available as an .msi or .exe, no registration unless you want to use the cloud whiteboard feature; where you can either request a free license code (via email address) or sign in with a BenQ AMS account if you have one. You can open .iwb & .notebook files. It comes pre-installed on our latest Rx03/Rx04 panels but can be installed on PC & mac too (there's even a browser based version).

If you'd like to know more, let me know.
