So we all have data retention policies with a variety of lengths of time data has to be retained depending on the type of data it is. After that I believe it's assumed we must destroy the data (that gets vague).

 

How do you manage all of your site's data (local server based files and folders) to ensure that the data that should be deleted is deleted?

 

Are there any clever ways people are categorising data and managing it semi-automatically centrally, or are we entrusting staff to look after their own data?

We haven't been on 365 for long enough yet for the 10 years' retention to kick in.

 

We anticipate applying the retention policy for all files in the Data Lifecycle Management section of Purview.

 

Then all hell will break loose.

 

(If staff want a document retained, just open and save it.)
