Dos_Box Posted February 16, 2024 Posted February 16, 2024 I attended a very informative webinar on Tuesday as part of the Bowland Dark Skies Festival (it's been cloudy and wet all week!) and thought I'd pop a couple of resources on here as I recall some years back we had a thread about astrophotogrpahy with regular cameras. It seems that it's much easier to do with modern smartphones now. You will need a couple of relatively inexpensive things, but the results are worth it. Firstly download this guide (for much more info) - https://science.nasa.gov/learn/heat/resource/a-guide-to-smartphone-astrophotography/ Then watch this for a quick overview of how easy it is: I'll have to invest in a phone tripod mount and possibly a remote clicker then get myself somewhere dark when the cloude finally goes away! 2
mikes Posted February 19, 2024 Posted February 19, 2024 Have you heard about some smartphones that fake details of sky shots? E.G. If you take a picture of the Moon, it actually swaps in a stored JPG of the moon? Someone took a photo at night with LED bowl street lamps and noticed when he uploaded it to facebook, each of the streetlamps were miniature Moons!
