STK91 Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 Good morning all, We use InVentry and are wanting to add an additional Outdoor Quickscan unit to the system. We have just been quoted £1295 for the device. Maybe it's me, but this seems very steep. Who else uses InVentry and what's your thoughts on there costs for hardware, particularly one off purchases to add to an existing system. Does that price above sound about right? Many thanks, Steve
LukeRowberry Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 I've just had a look at our original purchase from a few years ago and we paid 1295 for the quickscan. Shockingly expensive but it is what it is. 1
STK91 Posted August 10, 2023 Author Posted August 10, 2023 Thanks for having a look and letting me know.
Aprice Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 (edited) We just had an indoor one fitted for one of our schools, believe it was a similar sort of price, £1000 territory. It also required replacing the reader on the main screen with a new RFID version the school didn't have before which came as a further cost.I don't think the hardware cost is absurd for what it is, the Zebra units they are based on aren't cheap products. That said I certainly think better products exist e.g. Sign in app. They did enforce that their installers must fit, which was annoying as the installation process wasn't something particularly challenging and we had to re-do half of it anyway to get the cabling into it. Personally I would look to move away rather than invest further with them. Edited August 10, 2023 by Aprice
