[windows software] Moving Volume Activation Services to new Server

I have Volume Activation Services set up on a 2016 DC in ADBA mode. I need to demote the DC so do I need to set up another DC with Volume Activation Services? I can't seem to find any info on doing a transfer of role.

You shouldn’t need to

 

It stores it in AD so the role as such is just the GUI install (assuming you do the standard for dcs regarding ad replication etc etc)

All DC's replicate - So I don't need to install the role on another DC until I actually need to input a new KMS key for a future version of Windows/Office?
