Rack Mounted PSU

I went to replace a switch today, and had mistakenly thought that the rack mounted PDU had a power button on it. (It turned out just to be a large light.)

 

I can see a little behind the PDU and think that the cable goes upwards and out of the rack. I'm more or less certain that there is no 3 pin sockets inside the cabinet, and there are certainly none nearby that are obvious contenders.

 

Looking for advice on what to do in this situation. Would it be expeted that this is connected to a 3 pin plug? The brand of the PSU is 'Geist.'

 

If so, I guess my options are turning everything off one-by-one and seeing if it goes off, or having someone suitable to turn off the power to that room on the switchboard?

I would expect it to go to a UPS, and end in one of the chunky type of plugs. But it could be straight to a 3 pin.

I'd just pull the power cable out the back of the switch and plug it into the new one.

Personally I don't really see the need to isolate everything to unplug a IEC lead.

 

I'd have thought the PDU would either have a 13A plug, IEC connector C13 or C16 for connecting to a UPS, or be wired directly into a fused spur. Suppose a commando connector is also an option but probably overkill for a small PDU like that.

My expectations is that it would be plugged in to a UPS using an ICE C14 power connector (rather than a normal plug). It's possible it's also hard wired in to the wall or it may have a 3-pin plug hidden underneath the cabinet. Only way you'll know is to trace the cable coming out of it and see where it goes.
