Hi all,

Hoping that someone else has encountered this issue and found a fix. Our school assigns a Chromebook to each pupil. We have recently had a recurring issue in which some student's Chrome profile will cause any Chromebook that attempts to log in using that profile to crash. We have noticed a pattern of this tending to occur when the first failed login is done on a Chromebook that is not the pupil's assigned one.

Our best assumption for what is happening is that the pupils are downloading content at home which gets saved onto their cloud (images for desktop backgrounds etc). When attempting to log in to a Chromebook that isn't their own within the school, our network immediately attempts to download profile picture/desktop background images that were applied to the profile on another device. As our network blocks pupils from downloading this causes an error which results in this profile crashing any Chromebook that attempts to access it.

Just wondering if anyone has any insight into this, whether or not our assumption for whats causing this is correct/ how this can be fixed?

Thanks,

Gavin
