SIMS Cover

I’m hoping someone can help, I’m attempting to set up SIMS cover to start using next half term. All class staff have been added but when I go to arrange cover I can see say nine absences for the day I click to open the days info and nothing comes up also no staff show as free.

 

The only thing I can think is it’s because staff aren’t timetabled but when I try to add a timetable I get an error I’m guessing this is because the academic year has started?

 

Does anyone know if a way around this can I add a timetable now? Or can I just add teaching assistants to classes without a timetable? I’ve spent the whole of my Saturday trying to figure this out but Im getting nowhere.

You do not need to add a timetable - cover uses the timetable that is in SIMS and any changes to it are automatically reflected in cover.

If staff are not appearing to be allocated, in Manage Classroom Staff, make sure that The cover option is set to Provides Cover, and make sure that in the Organisations Panel the staff have a working pattern defined that covers the whole of the school day. If there are no working patterns defined you can create one, and can then use that for all your permanent staff members.
