EzWrite6 (BenQ) on Linux

I use BenQ's EzWrite6, the online version, on my Chromebook with no problems.

 

But with Ubuntu, I get the error message "The website is using features that are not available in your browser. Please view our site in one of these browsers", either with Chrome or Firefox, the two up to date.

 

Does anyone have a solution?

What browser are you using on Ubuntu, Chromium? Chrome?

Hi, can you confirm which browser you are using in Ubunto (Linux) and I will look into support. I know EZWrite 6 Web only supports Chrome, Firefox (and soon Edge).

Depends on what the website is actually checking for - my guess is that there's some client-side Javascript checking for either particular features or checking the browser user-agent string. There'll probably be a command-line option for your browser to set the user-agent string to something different, so instead of telling the website it's running on Chrome-on-Ubuntu you can tell it it's running on Chrome-on-ChromeOS or whatever instead.

Hi, I've had confirmation that currently Linux is not supported, you may be able to workaround by changing agents. However I can advise that support for Linux (x86) is being developed, but I don't have a timeframe yet.

"Not supporting" is one thing. Actively blocking access based on user agents is just unnecessary bad behaviour, especially when you are 'supporting' the chromeos browser (running on linux). Get a Product manager on the case to get rid of this nonsense.
