discoveranother Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 Hi all, One of the staff at a school, accidentally deleted a parent folder within Teams that was previously created by them. Within this folder were sub-folders and within each of these sub-folders were various documents etc. The staff member attempted to do a restore of the parent folder and it appears Teams may have been restoring the parent folder and sub-folders etc. However, the staff member apparently cancelled the restore during it's process. Therefore, within the parent folder, the sub-folders are showing again, but there are no longer any documents within the sub-folders. The staff member tried to do the restore again but to no avail. I logged a support call with Microsoft who are generally excellent at responding and assisting, but in this instance just emailed over a couple of pointless links that provide nothing basically. Just wondered if anyone had restored or recovered folders, files in Teams ? Thank you
AJWhite1970 Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 Sharepoint recycle bin is your friend here:- Open the channel's Files tab and select Open in SharePoint at the top of the page. In SharePoint, select Recycle bin on the left side of the page. This will show a list of all files deleted from every channel in the team. Select the file (or files) you want to recover and then select Restore at the top of the page.
FN-GM Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 The above recycle bin would be my recommendation. If not restore from a backup (assuming you have one).
