paulwallis Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Morning All Can anyone out there recommend a quality ISP for an independent school to use? They need to offer a filtering service approriate for KS1 and KS2. Regards Paul
RabbieBurns Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 we use redstone4schools Its about £2000 a year for the enhanced filtering package and they run our email system too. Pretty pricey if you ask me, but hey. When it works its great, 8mb and 0.8mb up. When theres the slightest problem, their support is non existant. You log a fault and maybe 3 days later they will phone you back.
Kitkatninja Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 We use EMBC for our main school line, however we also have a NTL business line coming in as a backup line, online exams, etc. You can get the NTL business line for about £500 a year (for a 10mg line) then buy something line Bloxx for your filtering. You could also get the NTL dedicated line for about £15k pa and that 8mb up & down. -Ken 1
Domino Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Personally I'd say you'd be better off using a isp that can guarantee a stable line, and then doing filtering in-house. You'll have far greater control - and normally MUCH better filtering
elsiegee40 Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 We're independent - age 3 months to 11 - and use RM with Safety Net Plus. The filtering is reliable. 1
