discoveranother Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 Hi all, Looking for a wireless printer that is suitable with a chromebook for home use. Wondered if anyone had any recommendations and if easy to set up ? Thanks all
6Foot2 Posted August 17, 2022 Posted August 17, 2022 We have an HP Color LaserJet MFP M181fw. It was a simple matter to connect it to the wireless network, and simple again to add the print/scan functions to the Chromebook (no drivers to download or install) All done in about two minutes. 1
jmak Posted August 17, 2022 Posted August 17, 2022 (edited) Anything modern should be fine in terms of working with a Chromebook. At home I've had three Chromebooks (all different brands) and an ancient laptop converted using Flex OS and two hp printers. All of them found each other without any intervention from me. I did completely fail to make the Flex OS laptop work with a >10 year old Canon printer, but I think of I'd been allowed to connect that to the router wired it would have been fine too. I'd recommend a laser printer if you can get one in budget and you're not mainly using it for photos. I have far fewer issues with it as it doesn't dry out or get clogged up through lack of use.
