IMAC External HDD

I'm looking at buying 4 external HDD for our new Mac Music Suite. I don't imagine there is any special requirments for macs. Which one would people suggest, looking at around 500Gb

I'd go for eSATA if possible - does the iMac come with an eSATA port, or can you fit a passive bracket to the back? If not, is there still a free internal SATA port - can you get an internal-to-eSATA cable and Dremel a hole in the back of the computer to poke it through?

we have had no problem with Lacie FW drives. Mobile Drives powered by FW bus very handy and go up to 500GB - if a tad expensive.

Or just get some external firewire drives?

 

Firewire is good for 2 reasons

 

Fast, target disk mode.
