Update Compliance enables organizations to monitor security, quality, and feature updates for Windows 10 or 11 Professional, Education, and Enterprise editions. It’s also one of many services powered by the Windows diagnostic data processor configuration, which allows IT administrators to authorize data to be collected from devices under their management. Was going to look at this for my Windows machines but looks like its out completely now with the AAD requirement (Google environment here ). Thanks for posting the link.

Not actually a problem, because Hybrid join is super easy, just register for Azure AD for free and enable it, probably take you about 2 hours total

I used to be an admin of MS365 in a previous life and like AAD/intune, but the head has demanded everything be googlified so my hands are kinda tied...

If everything is googlified you wouldn't have Windows. If you have Windows then no harm having M365, don't have to create users.
