Senior IT Technician

Supporting schools on Walney Island

 

G18 – G23 (£25,419 - £28,226)

37 hours per week / full year / permanent

 

An opportunity has arisen where we are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to join our friendly and supportive IT Team. We are looking for someone who will be able to make a positive contribution to the continuing development of IT in our schools and who is organised and self-motivated.

 

The vacancy will suit a person who has experience of IT support, but attitude and customer service skills are equally important. The successful candidate will have experience of IT systems, their installation, maintenance and improvement. They will possess a high level of communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work independently. We use IT extensively in supporting teaching and learning, and therefore this position requires enthusiasm for innovative IT development to meet the challenge of supporting continued improvement in every aspect of our schools.

 

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate an ability to provide a first-class customer service

to all users. Knowledge and experience of SIMS and/or other school-based management information systems would be desirable but not essential.

The role will be based at Walney School and will include support for George Hastwell School (100m away). Occasionally you may be asked to travel to Kendal for training and development. Travel expenses will be paid.
