Smoothwall - Restrict Browsing (and not Google Apps Login) for Device?

Morning all,

 

Got a situation where I need to block browsing for a device (Chromebook) and not a user. However they will need to be able to log in to Google Apps, just not "get internet" if you see. They will however need to log in for their subsequent lessons on regular PCs, just not on this particular Chromebook.

 

Is there any way to achieve that in Smoothie?

You would likely need a way to identify the Chromebook - a static MAC address mapping in DHCP to always give it the same IP or make sure reverse DNS is working and get the hostname of the Chromebook and add that to a location, which you can then use for policies. The Chromebook policy would have to be for that location and that user if you have other users using the same Chromebook as well.
