Based from our Dudley office and reporting to the overall Programme Director, the jobholder will manage an existing 10 year PFI contract to deliver and support both curriculum and Management information Systems ICT services to 50,000 pupils across primary, secondary and special educational needs schools. Services are measured against availability, usage and educational impact. The prime purpose of the role is to deliver all ongoing service elements of this large complex contract, own the P&L, manage the customer and other stakeholder relationships, line manage delivery teams, meet the required SLAs. The jobholder may also be required to deliver additional managed service contract in the Midlands area. This represents a unique opportunity to make a significant contribution on one of RM's most highly visible and strategically important contracts. Key Responsibilities Own the delivery of contractual services including development and modification over time (extensive h/w & s/w infrastructure and assets, helpdesk services, on-site engineering, education consultancy and training). Line manage the service delivery teams (circa 30+ staff) ensuring that operational and educational targets are met and capturing and reporting on key measures to schools, customers and within RM. Act as the ‘custodian of RM’ in effectively managing senior level relationships with schools, customers and relevant 3rd party / consortium partners Hold financial P&L ownership for the operational aspects of the contract, ensuring that costs are controlled whilst delivering an appropriate level of service. torledo Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 50k+ for managing 30 staff and various stakeholders....doesn't sound like a bad gig at all, i'm guessing it involves a fair amount of dealings with disgruntled headteachers but an experienced SDM can cope with that. .....especially as there's a beamer and bonus scheme in place, the package is certainly worth kopping a bit of flak for. if only i knew what P&L was, and had experience of multi-master-management (or whatever that word was in the JD) - i might have been in with a shout. Then again, maybe not.
Geoff Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 P&L = Partnership and Liaison. Basically as you say, you'd be the guy getting the flak. Plus I would of thought anyone in a school would of had experience of multi-master management.
