ShorehamGeek Posted November 12, 2021 Posted November 12, 2021 Funny thing this morning, and unsure what is the root cause. Windows updates applied to some PCs last night... although I don't think that is the cause. This morning, on some workstations - odd error messages, some users unable to log in, we were unable to lock workstations using Netsupport. Turns out, Sophos now thinks that one of Netsupport's DLLs is a virus! This affected our DNA and School products. As a (hopefully) quick fix, I've added the DLLs to our Sophos on-access scanning exceptions, and all now seems to be well. Just thought I'd post it in case anyone else with Sophos and Netsupport is seeing funny things this morning.
Aprice Posted November 12, 2021 Posted November 12, 2021 (edited) Funnily enough one of our customers had exactly the same thing happen this morning, SFXextractor.exe in the Netsupport folder was detected and quarantined, which has broken NetSupport by the looks of it. NetSupportTechSupport Posted November 15, 2021 Posted November 15, 2021 We received a report of this detection by Sophos at the end of last week and following this we have sent a false positive submission to Sophos for the NetSupport files that they had quarantined, and we hope that this will be resolved with them shortly. If anyone is continuing to experience any issues, please contact our support team and we will be happy to assist. Adam
