Nova T6 - different number of lessons on each day.

Can T6 handle this - we have a 2 week cycle with 5 periods each day.

Our usual shape is:

Reg; 1;2;Break; 3; Lunch; 4; 5

 

But for next year I'm being asked for ONE day a cycle (1Wed, if it matters!) to do

 

1; 2; Reg/tutor time; Break; 3; Lunch; 4; 5.

 

Can I trick T6 into letting me do this? (remembering this will also feed into Lesson Monitor).

At the moment Reg is a Non-teaching period - would it help if it wasn't??

 

I seem to have to set the same shape for every day - though I've played with Exclusive/Non-exclusive period types.

 

Oh, and to add the fun, the timings of those lessons will differ:

Hiya,

 

I think periods exist across the cycle, so the only way to do this would be to create one for each start time. So you have a period from 8.45 to 9, then from 9 to 9:35 then 9:35 to 10 etc. So on a normal day period 1 is a double of the second and third period, on the weird day it's a double of the first and second. It would be tricky to label both of these as 'period 1' though, so you might need to come up with a new naming system.

Agree, this variation can be handled in NT6 with considerable complexity. Best faculty know 1Wed timings differ, rename periods 0,1,2,3,4,5 and rely on class code/name to distinguish Registration periods.

 

You could reinforce class code/name of 1030Reg as a simple special variation.
