Our client, who provide ICT support services to schools in London have an urgent requirement for an experienced ICT Field Engineer to cover their schools in North and West London.

 

As the ICT Field Engineer, you will help to improve the standard of ICT provisions and enable the schools to deliver effective teaching and learning through ICT solutions. You will also facilitate communication between your schools and the Head Office.

To be considered for this role, you must have previous experience supporting IT within a school or college and be able to drive, with access to a car or motorbike.

PS: In the present climate, the majority of support work will be provided remotely, although there will still be times when you will be required to visit the schools.

 

You must also be able to work independently and have an aptitude for problem solving and a proactive approach to identifying ways to improve services provided by your team.

 

 

The main duties of this position include:

· Manging your time to support a number of schools, primarily within Windows environments.

· Maintaining computer peripheral equipment including scanners, printers, IWB’s and projectors.

· Installing / maintaining user network accounts and carrying out routine network maintenance.

· Ensuring backups are working and complete, and technical problems are logged and tracked.

· Ensuring anti-virus software is installed, kept up to date and working properly on all stations.

· Installing and testing new software, setting up and maintaining user e-mail accounts.

· Liaising with external support agencies to resolve faults as quickly as possible.

 

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience supporting:

· Windows Server 2012 to 2019

· Windows 8/10, Active Directory and Group Policy

· Office 365 (O365), Google Workspace (G Suite / Google Apps for Education)

· Apple School Manager
