naz1 Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 The server is a HP ProLiant ML310e Gen8. I keep get following Event ID 7. Event 7, Disk The device, \Device\Harddisk0\DR0, has a bad block. How many hours does a CHDSK take ? Will this need to be run at weekend ? Is worth running CHKDSK C on the server in read-only mode ?The server C drive is 120 GB size. Would you recommend alternative software to remove bad sectors ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
synaesthesia Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Yes it's safe to run - do it as soon as you can. It shouldn't take much more than a couple of hours for a drive that size if it's a slow one. However don't go papering over cracks - it's time to replace it.
