ryanplym Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 Hi We have 64 Archos tablets, we are using Hexnode MDM in Kiosk mode to prevent students from accessing unwanted applications. This works really well except when a student has found a way to factory reset the device and decided to play clash of clans. Has anyone found either a MDM that prevents this or a way of locking the device so it doesn't factory reset (Cutting students hands-off isn't an option, unfortunately) Thanks
cw222 Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 Hiya, We use intune for our MDM for this and works well. I think you can also do this via Hexnode : https://www.hexnode.com/forums/topic/restrict-factory-resetting/#:~:text=Navigate%20to%20Android%E2%80%93%3EAdvanced%20Restrictions,from%20resetting%20the%20Android%20device. Does that work on the devices? 1
ryanplym Posted December 3, 2020 Author Posted December 3, 2020 Thanks I have found some solution: 1. Enroll the devices as Hexnode for work 2. Block play.google.com on our firewall If a student factory resets the device, it will prompt them to log into google, but as play.google.com is blocked, they get a nice message telling them they are unable to sign in and the device reboots back to square one. Thanks for your help
