Google Equation editor

I'm trying to get people to move too Google exclusively , but there's always a hurdle...

 

Anyone know of a decent free simple to use equation editor similar to the Microsoft Office one for Google Docs ?

It's built in, Insert>equation, start typing and a toolbar appears

Equatio. Teachers get the premium version absolutely free. There is a built in tool, but it's not as powerful as Equatio.

Just remember to tell your teachers to go into the Equatio settings and set the equation size to the maximum possible, else they'll get a tiny equation and try and make it larger, and it'll be blurry.

There are a number of sites that support LaTeX and most should meet your needs - there are a few add-ins for Chrome, but I'm not aware of anything better than Equation as suggested by @paulkerton.
