Unable to delete user profiles from PCs after SharePoint drive mount

We have recently migrated to office 365 (emails and file server) and mapped Onedrive and SharePoint drives via Group Policy.

 

All is working well but we have noticed that when a SharePoint drive maps for the user (it usually takes time to map) we are unable to delete the profile from the pc (manually or remotely). We can only rename the profile but unable to delete. Delprof2 goes into endless loop and never finish the job.

 

Has anyone experience this issue?

I had a similar issue with 1709. I ended up using Delprof2 running as SYSTEM as a scheduled task.

 

You can do a log off script to force the SharePoint files to be online only if hard disk space is the only issue.

If you use 1903 or later have a look storage sense. There's an option to clean up downloaded onedrive files as well as other options.
