nsion Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 Group Technical Manager – (Ascot / Oxford / West Sussex) £40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience (full time / permanent position) Closing date: Wednesday 11th November 2020 Our client, a leading managed IT service provider in the education sector are looking for an experienced Network Manager to provide the core management function of the managed service within a small group of schools in Ascot, Oxford and West Sussex. This is a fantastic opportunity and a great time to join the group as our client requires someone who is capable of helping to build a new team and upgrade a large portion of the schools’ IT offering. To be considered for this role, you will require a proven track record of managing Enterprise level network infrastructure or a service desk within the education sector coupled with experience with Virtualisation (VMWARE or Hyper-V preferred) and Cloud Services in addition to having solid experience of project managing high end Microsoft server environment deployments. As the Group Technical Manager, your main duties will include: · Responsibility for the effective operation and management of the ICT network from a technical point of view. · Being the group’s resource of expertise for developments and future growth in the field of ICT, and legislation. · Running the technical element of the Group’s Helpdesk and being part of the team that responds to call. · Being the escalation point for all technical issues within the client, before the issue hits the MSP’s Helpdesk and to either fix these issues, or escalate appropriately. · Completing regular checks which include – but are not limited to Disk space checks, Backup checks, Event log checks, Cluster Shared Volume/Shared Storage for Hypervisors and SNMP Traps. · Identifying areas of growth within the group from a Technical and Engineering front and pass this to the Group IT Manager who will form this as part of the overall strategy. · Managing the workload and mentoring 3x onsite IT Engineers and assisting in progressing them to the next level of Engineer within the company. · Establishing and maintaining high quality learning facilities and assisting in planning their future development including advanced troubleshooting, ensuring a consistent service level, identifying potential network issues and escalating unresolved problems. · Ensuring SLA’s are enforced alongside ensuring all contractual KPI’s are met to the highest standard. · Being part of the Technical Advisory Group to suggest new systems and ways of implementing a standardised systems across the schools managed by the MSP. · Leading engineering projects within school holidays including providing detailed scope of works and design, leading individuals of teams on site and delegating tasks to ensure the correct running of the project on time. · Attending emergency call outs where needed, sometimes beyond the call of duty and provide cover in the absence of engineers where needed. · Awareness and compliance with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security and confidentiality, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person. The ideal candidate will also have: · Professional qualifications (Degree / Masters in Computing) or Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or equivalent, demonstrable experience. · Other specialist IT specific qualifications i.e.: Aruba, Cisco, HP or other Enterprise level software/hardware.
