saggu Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 We have lots of new iPads purchased. Supplier added them to our ASM. They directly got enrolled to Mosyle MDM with the set default profile. All good till this point. There are some pre installed apps which are still on the iPads. Does anyone know how to remove them? looked at various setting on the MDM but unable to figure out. Can anyone suggest the solution? Thanks in advance.
NicholasEsping Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 Which apps are you trying to remove? You might need to take ownership of the app before you can remove them with Mosyle.
saggu Posted October 16, 2020 Author Posted October 16, 2020 Apps like- rulers, keynotes etc. How to take ownership?
Aprice Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 (edited) Hi, You need to go to Management, Allowed/Blocked Apps Then Blocked Apps at the top of that page. Create a new profile with the apps you want to hide selected. https://myschool.mosyle.com/#helpcenter/411 Edited October 16, 2020 by Aprice 1
NicholasEsping Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 (edited) You would need to look up the iPad in mosyle and then click on the gear next to the app you want to take ownership of and confirm. The user of the iPad will then need to authorize the status change. You could also just wipe the iPad and reset it up without the preinstalled apps. If you are trying to hide system apps you will need to do what Aprice suggested but if you are trying to remove apps like the Apple store you will either need to reset the device or take ownership of the apps. Actually nevermind I am wrong what Aprice suggested looks like it will work out. I have never used that option. Edited October 16, 2020 by NicholasEsping 1
