fiza Posted July 23, 2020 Posted July 23, 2020 We have just purchased Cambium for our Primary School. Was wondering if there is an easy way for us to provide access to Reception Staff to generate Guest WiFi Vouchers? Being new to the system I cant find a user role that is just for Voucher Generation. I have found the Mobile App but I cant expect Reception Staff to download that onto their personal devices in order to generate vouchers. How do you do it?
fiza Posted December 1, 2020 Author Posted December 1, 2020 Resurrecting this now as seeing in some other threads that there are a few more cambium users on the site now.
Chris_Cook Posted December 2, 2020 Posted December 2, 2020 We pre-print our vouchers and leave them with reception. Are you after a way of logging who got which voucher? There are options to set how long the voucher lasts for, and how long it works for after first use. There are also options to limit the number of devices it can be used on. For us, we set the lifetime of the voucher to 5 years, and 1 day from first use. We also did some 5 day ones for guests who are with us for more than a couple of days.
fiza Posted December 3, 2020 Author Posted December 3, 2020 @Chris_Cook thanks. From my initial findings it seems the voucher is valid from the day it is generated so if we do a five day voucher on a Monday and it is not used until Thursday then it runs out on Friday. What about those visitors who are only here for a day? When would those vouchers be printed out? To me it would make more sense that the voucher is valid from when it is activated by the user and not when it is generated. Is my understanding correct?
DavidYoung Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 This is our config (same school as @Chris_Cook): It starts the one day timer from when the card is first used. 3 devices per card. 1

fiza Posted December 4, 2020 Author Posted December 4, 2020 yep, that's on the console I think I understand now. I was totally reading the console option wrong. The vouchers themselves a valid for 1827 days but each one is valid for 1 day from the time the session starts?
fiza Posted December 5, 2020 Author Posted December 5, 2020 We haven't rolled it out yet. Still in the testing phase. Only have 4 APs at the moment.

fiza Posted December 8, 2020 Author Posted December 8, 2020 How did you find it so far? Our testing so far has been good. Unfortunately it looks like funding has been diverted this year so we won't be rolling out in 2021. If you are considering Cambium you can get hold of a free AP for evaluation purposes. https://www.cambiumnetworks.com/cnpilot-free-ap/ 1
MS2011 Posted October 19, 2021 Posted October 19, 2021 How does cambium support works ? Can some someone pass me uk base cambium person contact details? Thanks
paulkerton Posted October 19, 2021 Posted October 19, 2021 Can some someone pass me uk base cambium person contact details? Thanks GDPR! I think anyone who has their details will have to pass your details to them. Just a heads up! 1
jmak Posted October 19, 2021 Posted October 19, 2021 GDPR! I think anyone who has their details will have to pass your details to them. Just a heads up! I'm sure that's tongue in cheek, but obviously the details belong to a company not an individual (unless you have their home phone number on speed dial), so GDPR doesn't apply.
