SIMS Roles

Afternoon,

 

I hope you are all well and safe in these weird circumstances.

 

Now something has baffled me today (I am relatively new to SIMS) and I am sure this is something very simple and its me not doing something properly.

 

I have been creating new staff this afternoon, so I create staff record - pls note our school do not use SIMS to hold personal info about our staff so we put the bare minimum in - I then go to create them as a user and I have noticed that some of them have roles as Employee, Teacher, User and Agent and some only have the role of Employee, Teacher and User.

 

I have compared how I have set them up and I can see no difference so I am confused as to why some have the role of agent.

 

What have I not done for them to have the agent role and also how important is it?

 

I have checked some current teachers and they all seem to have the role of agent as well.

 

Any thoughts and guidance would be great
