ryanplym Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 Afternoon all Hope you are all keeping safe and well We have a G-Suite which was set up by one of our IT teachers several years ago (and they still manage it). I have been reciving many emails from students stating they are having issues logging into the google classroom app on their android devices. They keep getting a popup that says "We are sorry, but you do not have access to classroom. Please contact your domain administrator for access" I do have full google admin access and I have taken a look online but had no joy. I can however access google classroom though http://classroom.google.com. Has anyone had this issue? Thanks for any help

Ditto Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 (edited) I'd use your admin role to get a support code and call support - overall, I found telephone support excellent - often at it's best when calling in the morning and getting connected to the Ireland support team. *** EDIT *** or failing that, use Edugeek Edited April 16, 2020 by Ditto
ryanplym Posted April 16, 2020 Author Posted April 16, 2020 Hi Cache and Steve Thanks for your reply. I have just cheched the service status and it says "ON for everyone" Thanks Steve - I saw that post on Google when I ran a search earlier this morning. The option was already enabled.
6Foot2 Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 https://mkerala.com/solved-google-classroom-we-are-sorry-but-you-do-not-have-access-to-classroom/ Steve Those settings are already in place for our users, but some still had issues like the ones described. Two approaches solved issues for these users: Some users were (apparently using an outdated version of the app) When they updated the problems they were reporting went away. Some users, apparently, already had a Google user logged on to their mobile device. When this user logged out, and they logged in with their school issued user they also stopped reporting problems. This is second hand info because I have not been with the students/staff when these solutions were found/applied.
ryanplym Posted April 16, 2020 Author Posted April 16, 2020 Thank you for all your replies. I have tested one of our test accounts on two devices one being a Samsung S7 which I completely wiped clear and started fresh and Samsung S20 and both have the same issue. We are using the free edition of Google education but not sure if this has anything to do with it I have taken your advice and contacted their support team. I will let you know how I get on
ryanplym Posted April 16, 2020 Author Posted April 16, 2020 It was the device management that was causing an issue. I unchecked "Require password" and it just worked like magic. Thankyou so much for your help
