I was managing to get recognised brand SSD at around 240Gb for mid to low £20's not so long ago. Seems to more like £35 now and I can guess why. Anyone seeing good prices anywhere - perhaps from someone holding older stock. Can't say I'm too hopeful!

If you're reallllllly tight on budgets, there are some cheaper brands currently by a few pence, for example on Softcat -

Integral 240GB V Series SATA III 2.5” SSD Version 2, 240 GB, 2.5", 450 MB/s, 6 Gbit/s - £11.64

ADATA ULTIMATE SU630, 240 GB, 2.5", 520 MB/s, 6 Gbit/s - £11.73

But personally would pay an extra £ or so and get a higher/more reliable ones :p

I trust ADATA and Integral more than most of the other budget brands, and tend to just be lower binned products (from what I have read), so if its just for a machine, then it should be fine. However you can get a Kioxia for around £15 for a 240gb drive, or £23 for a 480GB drive, so would probably go for them, but that's partly because the are a brand I've used with hardly any issues for years now.
