£37,400 - £43,750 depending on experience ( plus generous pension, lunches, 40 days annual leave (incl. bank hols), free parking/fitness suite/pool/squash etc. )

Our client, a prestigious Independent school in Hertfordshire are looking for Developer with at least 2 years commercial experience using SQL, C#, ASP.Net and MVC.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Mid-Level Developer who is looking to progress their career whilst working with dedicated practitioners, support staff and teachers to deliver a fantastic learning experience across a leading independent school.

 

Working within the Information Services & Development team, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the IS systems and applications that support the schools' teaching and professional services.

You will also be involved in all phases of the development of new services, maintenance of current systems, system upgrades and contributing to the operation of the IS and Development department.

 

As the Developer, your main duties will include:

· Co-ordinating the technical implementation and maintenance of the schools’ bespoke solutions

· Working with the Head of Information Services and Development to manage technical projects and deliverables for effective results

· Utilising technical and leadership skills to support and implement the deliverables set by the Head of Information Services and Development and the overall strategic aims of the department

· Developing detailed requirement specifications, including functional and user interface designs for new systems and system changes.

· The provision of technical guidance for the development of software designs and leading on the development of documentation for internal and third-party systems.

· Utilising technical skills and experience in the development of high-quality software to meet the requirements of the schools’ users and to agreed designs and timescales

· Developing and co-ordinating robust test cases and testing programmes to ensure applications meet the required quality criteria prior to handover

· Ensuring that information security and data protection are at the forefront of all systems

 

As the ideal candidate you will have:

 

· Experience of working with complex databases on Microsoft SQL Server (or similar)

· Experience of programming in .NET, ASP.NET and C#

· Knowledge of Management Information Systems, preferably iSAMS

· Experience of writing SQL queries and SSRS reports

· Evidence of maintaining a range of databases and web services

· Ability to write technical and end user documentation including maintenance and training material
