Cache Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 Hi all Curious how people are managing store apps on Domain PC's. I have a member of staff who wants Microsoft Whiteboard, so after a bit of playing I've got the private store setup and thought I was away until I had to disable the policy which prevents windows from communicating with external update sources which makes me a bit nervous. How are other's managing installing/deploying apps and the subsequent updates? Thanks

Roberto Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 You can also use Intune (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/intune/apps/apps-add). Note that you’ll need App Store access on the devices for that to work however. I’m not convinced there will be a way around that; Microsoft, Google and Apple have spent a lot of resources on their store (and the underlying app distribution infrastructure) and using that infrastructure will always be the best way for any software management tool to deliver apps that are available in an App Store. 1
free780 Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 Yep hybrid join, SCCM. You can target app deployments per device. I have Whiteboard pushed out. Read Write have a store app as well so the licensing s tied to AzureAD. 1
Cache Posted March 3, 2020 Author Posted March 3, 2020 Thanks all, guess I'll have to dig out my SCCM instructions out for setting up then and finally move forward with it! I suppose I should ask, do any of you have the Allow Windows to connect to Other Update Sources disabled in Group Policy or not?
