talksr Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 Hi, Does anyone know if it is possible to link our Microsoft InTune account to our on prem server 2016? This way, we could join users and computers on our domain to InTune. I had a look on Azure, and it looks possible on there but it keeps asking me for a subscription, so assuming as we have only purchased InTune Open Faculty, we don't get the full feature set of Azure? Thanks in advance.
Uber22 Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 i think this comes as part of A3 licencing, i have just setup the basic stuff on Intune, I am looking at the same thing how we connect on prem to intune. 1
NicholasEsping Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 Azure AD Basic is available for free to Education Customers and then you can install Azure AD Connect on a server to sync up your Active Directory users and devices to intune. 1

Thanks, When I search for Azure AD Basic, all I am finding is lots of articles saying it is being phased out from August 2019. I have been able to download Azure AD Connect no problem, although it is showing this error when I try and install it. Has anyone had this before?
NicholasEsping Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 I just checked our licenses and it looks like it got moved into the Office 365 A1 Plus license which is also free for education. For that error I would just uninstall the old dirsync and install ADConnect and set it up the way you need. 1
