atechguy Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 Hi all, Just wondering what everyone uses to Sync their Apple devices. I have a school who only have charging caddys (no sync feature) So im wondering if there i a device that would allow me to sync 10 devices at a time? Would a 10 port standard USB spliter work?
CHiLL Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 Since moving to a cloud MDM (InTune), we haven't had a requirement to sync iPads in that way. However when we did do that, we had a 10-port TeckNet USB 3.0 hub (the type that has it's own power supply). It worked fine until our Mac started playing up and we had issues connecting multiple iPads at the same time. This is what prompted our move to the cloud.
EssentialRug Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 (edited) We set ours up using Meraki and are DEP enrolled so auto set up out of the box. No requirement for a Mac running Configurator or a sync trolley. Edited December 13, 2019 by EssentialRug
LukeMoss Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 Lightspeed MDM and DEP, definitely cloud is the way to go with DEP. We just use our Mac mini as our caching server now.
XiJ Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 We use MDM but for non dep devices I’ll supervise them with a Mac first. For our schools that don’t have a sync enabled trolley, I use a powered 10 port USB hub.
