GPP Drive Maps causing slow logon

Currently I have three mapped drives being applied by user group policy. These Policies work fine till the user is offsite and doesn't have a network connection. These mapped drives are being mapped to respectively \\domain.org\DFS_Namespace1, \\domain.org\DFS_Namespace2, and \\domain.org\DFS_Namespace3. Each taking around 30 seconds time to out, totaling about a little over 2 minute for a user to login. If the user is onsite and has access to the network of course it is a quick process.

 

Any ideas on how to speed this up?

I'm wondering if this is more related to DFS than anything else. I haven't used DFS in years though. Are you mapping the drives through GPP? Try item level targeting to detect if the client is in a defined AD Site and if it isn't, then skip the map.

Ya mapping the drives through GPP. I will go through item level targeting and report back.
