Uber22 Posted October 20, 2019 Posted October 20, 2019 Hey I am planning to move all my virtual machines to my back up host tomorrow, as I want to change my host OS. I have veeam backup and replication I have moved other virtual machine with it but never the DCFS has anyone use veeam for this. did you come across any issues ? Thanks Rob
PotNoodleTech Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 I would use HyperV itself to move the VM over to another HyperV host. You can of course use Veeam. make sure the original VM on the original host is actually shut down or you'll end up with 2 x servers with the same IP address.
theeggmaster Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 Agreed with @AButters. Use Hyper-V or Failover Cluster Manager to move the VMs.
Uber22 Posted October 21, 2019 Author Posted October 21, 2019 what a nightmare of a day, took me all day to get veeam working because I had some issues with the following errors with permissions for "log on as a service". all the guides said to install group policy console on the hyper v host but I couldn't as its server core edition. got to 4.00 and it still wasn't playing ball with all the things I went thought so I tried it once more and it started. 2.5tb to copy started at 4.00 its only copied 400gb
