Digital Portfolios

Just wondering if anyone is successfully using any software to curate digital work? I'm fed up of teachers getting pupils to print all their work to just stick it into their books but I do understand they need to be able to show they are marking work and be able to show inspectors what the class has been doing. It would also be nice for Parents to be able to see the excellent work their cherubs produce.

 

I've seen mention of SeeSaw, that looks good, but ideally I would like it to tie into an MIS, minimise the admin needed.

 

Any ideas?

Some of our teachers use class notebooks for digital work, others use Teams with class notebooks. You could tie this in with their office profile via AD or use something like salamandersoft.

 

Some other teachers use Wix/Squarespace and students will host a free website with their portfolio, and they can add comment sections for "marking", and members areas to regulate visitors.

 

I also know firefly can do this if you also want it to tie in with an MIS

Thanks for the reply. We do use Teams but the query is what about when inspectors come around and want to have a look. Wix is an interesting prospect but I fear the lack of control or oversight. Firefly is something I have seen but the cost for benefit is not in the right ballpark.

Our Computing Teachers showed the Ofsted inspectors their class notebooks from what I remember .

 

Ofsted will take a range of evidence into account when makingjudgements, including published performance data, the school’s in-yearperformance information and work in pupils’ books and folders, includingthat held in electronic form. However, unnecessary or extensive collectionsof marked pupils’ work are not required for inspection."

Seesaw for Schools although not the free version can link directly into your MIS system but you would need to be in a 1:1 environment, I assume you are Primary?

 

If you have shared devices this work as well although if you are using the free version this does not link to your MIS, I have nursery schools, reception classes and a couple of large SEN schools who use this successfully, teachers, students and parents love it
