Flash Plugin doesn't work in Chrome On Win 10 Pc when we use Mandatory Profile in GPO

Hello, I wonder if somebody can help with this. We cannot run Flash player Plugin using Chrome since we moved from Roaming Profile to Mandatory Profile. In Order to let the user save bookmarks we have setup a policy into Chrome GPO to Set the User Data Directory to use ${roaming_app_data} got from https://www.chromium.org/administrators/policy-list-3/user-data-directory-variables.

 

With this change, the user can now retrieve the bookmarks when they login on different machines but the problem is that the Flash Player Plugin is not working anymore. If we go to Adobe Flash test page we can see that flash is enabled but when we right click on the animation nothing happen. Everything is working fine if we don't setup the user data directory or if we use the roaming profile. We moved from Roaming Profile to Mandatory profile to reduce the time for the user to login into a Pc and my company doesn't want revert back to Roaming Profile. If somebody could advice a solution, it would be great. Thanks Giuseppe

Chrome 76 onwards disables Flash by default now.

 

Another thing you could try is to install the PPAPI Flash plug-in from the Adobe website (install_flash_player_32_ppapi.msi). You will need to register to download the MSI if you haven't already.

Chrome has in the past year been really finicky with flash in my experience, even with the PPAPI plugin; setting flash GPO's or enabling it in the config etc;

I ended up advising staff to go back to using IE for that old educational web-based garbage that uses a Flash navigational system...
