Jobos Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Been having fun and games with groupcall exporter since our Sophos UTM was replaced with an XG on Monday. Groupcall logs show proxy not found which is to be expected as the UTM was the proxy but now the XG is set to be a transparent proxy so no address needed but try as I might I cannot see where groupcall has set the old proxy address. In groupcall management the proxy field was already blank but it must be set somewhere. Groupcall support spent a good while trying to fix it and came to the conclusion it was the XG fault but I think otherwise.
jemal Posted August 12, 2019 Posted August 12, 2019 We had a similar issue, took ages to sort it as didn't play up till many months after changing to a transparent proxy, and from memory when it was sussed it was a proxy issue, I think it still took a long time to fix. In our 'HostedConsole' (the one using the native windows management console, as opposed to the bespoke management app they have titled 'Hosted Xporter Manager'), the setting was in 'Misc', where there were 2 lines for proxy server setting; 'proxy server' and 'proxy bypass', and that was duplicated across different instances we had for different groupcall jobs; I'm guessing thats the same setting you're referring to. We have transparent proxy on smoothwall, and both those lines referring to proxy server settings have blank value. On a subsequent different issue, I think I also recall there also being some config file (like an ini type file) that had to be imported or re-initialised again to sync with their SQL settings, and one of the techs from groupcall claimed we must have made an unauthorised change to it and changes required a process to run after every edit, but was quite confident we wouldn't have touched it ourselves. I can't remember much of it though given we were told not to touch it. Last few issues we had from groupcall seemed to take their techs quite a long time and various trial and error type approaches, and using different applications to manage their settings, albeit they seem to always get there in the end. When we can we're encouraging suppliers to use Wonde for SIMS exports instead if they give us a choice; we seem to have a much better trouble free experience with our SIMS exports from that, and if we get imports failing they proactively phone us in a couple of days to check if our servers are ok, whereas some groupcall jobs were failing for weeks/months before a member of our staff would tell us a service wasn't working correctly.
Jobos Posted August 13, 2019 Author Posted August 13, 2019 Groupcall spent 45 minutes remoting to the SIMS sever trying to fix it and re-initialised each time they made changes but in the end said it must be our filter. I've now 'fixed' it by adding the proxy name and IP address to the SIMS server HOST file so groupcall is happy again but it highlights a problem with the software.
GREED Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 Hi both. Graham from Groupcall here. I'd be interested in following up both of these issues internally to see why this has taken so long to resolve with you. If you are willing, would you be able to PM me any support references you have from us so I can investigate. Regards
