fiza Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 We use Group Policy to prevent use of OneDrive (we are G Suite school). Computer Policy>Admin Templates>Windows Components>OneDrive> Prevent the usage of OneDrive for file storage. The description of this policy states : If you enable this policy OneDrive doesn't appear in the navigation pane in File Explorer. GPResults tells me the policy was applied but I can still see OneDrive in File Explorer As a test student user I can drop files into it too. When I look I can see the files have dropped into c:\Users\testuser\OneDrive. Does anyone know why please?
TechMonkey Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 I seem to recall this is the usual, MS forgot about this setting and no longer use it or something. I'll hunt around for the Reg frags we had to use to hide them 1
TechMonkey Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 I think we deleted HKEY_Classes_Root\CLSID\{04271989-C4D2-D7B3-15CD-805A0EE8FF2F}\ in the end. There are a lot of different posts around about other strings in the same place that did it but this was the one for us. I still see it appear in some dialogue boxes but it is mostly banished. As ever, no guarantee, please do test before hand. 1
