Hi

I used to be able to force apps to close on logout via a registry key but recently that appears to no longer be working and users with files open have started getting this again

Is there a GPO or similar I've missed that can stop this happening?

Cheers

I'd also be interested in something like this if it's possible. We seem to have an issue with the Word foreign language pack that often halts user logoff. Worse still folk tend to click the log off button and walk away from the machine which means I often wander into a lab and find the odd computer sitting logged on.

I'd ideally want the computer to force the logoff after a minute if they don't respond to the prompt.

I thought I was going mad, I've been trying to get this to work to fix the issue with VMWare Horizon where user sessions are stuck logging off https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2151503 but the key seems to do absolutely nothing, I've been searching for hours with no one reporting any issues to finally find this post!

I wonder if this is a Windows update, or it's just not present on some versions?

I know this is a bit old now, but if anyone else is having issues with the AutoEndTasks setting not working, could I ask what Windows build you are using?

We are on 1809 LTSC, OP seems to be on 1809 as well?

Thanks!
