Hi All

Bit of a strange one but it's driving me up the wall. I have 1 member of staff here when he logs into our Terminal Server the start menu just won't open up. If you right click the desktop and click personalise it also says that the application doesn't exists!

I don't get this.. If I login as a test user in the same OU as him with the same Group Policies it's perfectly fine it's only his account in the whole building?

Does anyone know what might be going on?

Thanks in advance all! :)

There's an ongoing (very painful) issue with Server 2016 displaying similar start menu not opening behaviour.

If you're only seeing it for one user (lucky), try a profile reset to see if that fixes it.

There is a lot of noise online about things to try, profile reset, sfc /scannow, re-reg apps, in place upgrades, etc all escalating in order of straw clutching.

We have a case open with MS where we have provided them with a virtual machine image with the problem (for all users, local or domain, etc) and are waiting patiently for their next idea.

I hope the profile reset works for you.
