caffrey Posted April 28, 2019 Posted April 28, 2019 I'm just playing with a Smoothwall VM to revisit if I can go through our Unifi USG, so LAN - Smoothwall - USG - INTERNET Is this the correct way to do it ? It seems to work (clients can access the internet) and traceroutes take the correct path but seems odd to me Network is 192.168.4.0/23 I've set the Smoothwall IP as 192.168.5.252 on Internal External I've set the IP to 192.168.5.251 and the Gateway as 192.168.5.254 which is the USG 1
ibpalle Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 Looks fine. What you are doing is double NAT. LAN Network is behind a NAT device, which in turn is behind another NAT device before the internet breakout point. Something that can be required depending on the router equipment available. 2
