EthanW Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 Senior IT Technician – Central London* URGENT * Salary up to £35,800 (dependent on experience) plus benefits This is a full time, permanent position Closing date - ASAP Our client, a college in Central London, are currently looking for a Senior IT Technician, with the required skills and experience who can plan, organize and successfully deliver the required outcomes of the college as a senior member of the IT Team. Reporting to the IT Manager, the successful candidate will aim to deliver an excellent service that meets the needs of the college and fulfills staff and learners’ expectations. Main Duties and Responsibilities: · Work with the IT manager to plan and implement an effective IT strategy for the college. · Set up and maintain the college computer hardware, including PCs, Macs, servers, tablets, IPads, AP’s VM’s, Hyper-V failover cluster and peripherals. · Set up and maintain the network infrastructure including cabling, switches, firewalls and racks. · Set up and maintain the college telephony. · Install and update the computer software in accordance with the college plans and requirements. · Maintain the computer security by providing backups, creating accounts, setting passwords and implementing security patches as necessary. To be considered for this role, you must have some experience of the following technologies: · Windows OS and Server 2008 / 2012 · PC and MAC OS · Active Directory and Group Policy · DNS / DHCP · SQL Server · Wireless Networks · Microsoft Exchange / Hybrid · SCCM · Microsoft Azure · Office 365 & G Suite · Hyper-V with failover cluster · Windows Storage Server · Sophos Cloud Central · Arcserve / Veeam Backup · Firewalls and switches including troubleshooting · Storage technologies i.e. SAN or NAS · Knowledge and understand of telephone PBX systems are desirable · A relevant qualification in computing, IT, ICT, networking or equivalent experience This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
