To ensure the continued and exciting development of our Computer Science Department we have an opportunity for an experienced Computer Science practitioner to play a pivotal role at the School. This may be an excellent development opportunity for a Computer Science Teacher. As Head of Computer Science, you will implement a vision and strategy to ensure the Computer Science Department is a leading Science department; one that is innovative, successful and ambitious in inspiring girls to love the subject and provide them with the skills to become confident and imaginative creators of technology and meet the digital needs of tomorrow. Leading by example, you will inspire teachers in the Computer Science Department to ensure that each teacher is working effectively to deliver a high quality and appropriate academic experience (both curricular and extra-curricular) to all students in a safe, well-supported, well-resourced and well-looked after environment. You will need strong leadership skills with experience as a subject teacher covering KS3-5. If you can promote excellence in teaching and learning in Computer Science and lead and build confidence and excitement in digital technology and the empowering possibilities of the science of computing, we would be delighted to hear from you. Computer Science at Wimbledon High School: The Computer Science department has evolved substantially in recent years, making the transition from ICT. We are continually reviewing the curriculum and developing new opportunities to insert advancements in fields such as augmented reality and machine learning in lessons and the girls and staff are always open to digital experimentation. The teaching facilities include a well-resourced computer room and the shared use of a graphics room, equipped with 3D printers, a 360o camera, class sets of VR headsets and iPads, inter alia, and the cross-disciplinary STEAM laboratory.
