Any views on Microsoft's Remote Desktop over Team Viewer? I need to organise off-site access to our Windows server. I have a feeling the Web Remote Desktop may only be available from Server 2016 onwards, in which case this thread perhaps needs to move up a version?

Do you mean the HTML 5 web front end where you can connect from within a browser? If so then yes I believe you need Server 2016 onward - that being said if you have RDS in-place already can't you just use the normal remote desktop method and download an .rdp file to connect to the servers? Does it have to be done in a web browser?

 

I'm rather a fan of the HTML 5 front end though I must say, for our Apple users this should be a must smoother way for them to access SIMS... when I finally finish the setup and get all the software installed.

 

Doesn't team viewer need to be licensed for this sort of use too?

Remote Desktop allows for multiple users concurrently on a single host. Team viewer however only allows a single
