Alternative Curriculum in a multiple timetable setup

I wonder if anyone has come up with a solution to the issue we are currently having. We have a different cycle and timetable for Senior School and Sixth Form and the timetables are edited separately before being pulled together and being written back into SIMS, which is fine until you come to Alternative Curriculum. When the timetables are combined and written back to SIMS the Alternative Curriculum classes exist in both the Senior School and Sixth Form cycle so when a student is assigned they get a class in both timetables! This breaks the edit marks screen due to the different periods and the student ends up with two timetables.

Any ideas?

Ouch, that is an awkward one!

I know this is not very helpful but I can't think of a way of doing this which wouldn't involve creating 2 sets of alternative curriculum classes (one on each TT) and only every assigning pupils to AC lessons in their own cycle. Obviously that would mean staff would have 2 registers. It seems that the trouble is that SIMS can't really handle the idea of a student being on 2 different cycles.
